Marisa Rubio was born in Tierra del Fuego, Argentina.
She received the following awards and subsidies: Antorchas Foundation Grant for Artistic Creation (2004); arteBA-Petrobras 2nd prize (2008); Castagnino-MACRO National Salon 1st prize (2011); Andreani Foundation 3rd prize (2011); Cisneros Fontanals Foundation (CIFO) (2012); FNA Subsidy for Artistic Creation (2012); Braque Honorable Mention Award (2013).

Her solo exhibitions include: Souvenir, Mite gallery (2017), Das Heim, Hochschule Für Bildende Künste, Dresden (2016); Quehué, CCK (2015); Talk, Nora Fisch (2010); Research / Infrastructure, CCEBA (2009); InterGarden, Appetite (2008); Dark Burrita, Gallery 713 (2007); Puente,  Alliance française (2006).
